In today’s rapidly evolving business landscape, ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) is no longer a “nice-to-have”—it is a business imperative.

Across Malaysia, companies are facing increasing pressure from regulators, investors, and stakeholders to demonstrate clear ESG commitments. With frameworks such as Bursa Malaysia’s sustainability requirements and the introduction of Malaysia’s National Sustainability Reporting Framework (NSRF), the expectations are clear:

Companies must move beyond awareness—and into action.

Yet, many organisations find themselves asking the same questions:

  • Where do we even begin with ESG?

  • How do we calculate our carbon emissions?

  • What exactly is required for compliance?

  • How do we turn ESG into a business advantage rather than a burden?

To address these challenges, two trainings on consecutive days featuring intensive ESG training programme will be held in Johor Bahru on 13th and 14th May 2026, designed to guide companies from foundational understanding to practical implementation. There is an option to join just the training on the 13th, or just the training on the 14th, or both trainings on both days.

A Structured Learning Journey: From Awareness to Application

This programme is intentionally designed as a progressive back-to-back training experience, allowing participants to build confidence step-by-step, if attended for both days.

Training #1 (13 May): ESG Awareness for the Growth of Any Company

The first training focuses on building a strong foundation—cutting through the noise and simplifying ESG into clear, actionable concepts.

Participants will:

  • Gain a clear understanding of ESG fundamentals and why they matter for business growth and resilience

  • Learn how climate-related risks—both physical and transitional—can impact operations and long-term strategy

  • Understand carbon emissions (Scope 1, 2, and 3) and what they mean for their organisation

  • Explore key concepts such as carbon neutrality, net zero, and carbon credits

  • Discover how circular economy models can unlock new efficiencies and opportunities

  • Analyse real-world case studies of companies successfully implementing ESG strategies

By the end of Training #1, participants will not only understand ESG—they will begin to see how it directly connects to profitability, risk management, and competitiveness.

Training #2 (14 May): Advanced ESG Skills – GHG Calculations and Malaysia’s NSRF

The training on this day is designed for organisations ready to take the next step—moving from understanding to execution.

This highly practical session dives into the technical and strategic aspects of ESG implementation.

Participants will:

  • Learn globally recognised GHG accounting methodologies (including GHG Protocol and ISO standards)

  • Understand how to define organisational boundaries and accurately calculate emissions across Scope 1, 2, and key Scope 3 categories

  • Work through hands-on GHG calculations using real-world data

  • Identify common data challenges and learn how to manage gaps, assumptions, and estimations

  • Gain clarity on Malaysia’s NSRF and how it aligns with global frameworks such as IFRS Sustainability and TCFD

  • Translate emissions data into meaningful ESG disclosures and reports

  • Develop practical strategies to identify emission hotspots and prioritise reduction initiatives

A key highlight of this session is the case study and group exercise, where participants will build a basic GHG reduction and reporting plan—bridging the gap between theory and real-world application.

Designed for Decision Makers and Practitioners

This programme is particularly relevant for:

  • Business owners and senior management

  • Heads of Department (HODs)

  • Sustainability and ESG teams

  • Finance, compliance, and risk professionals

  • Companies beginning or advancing their ESG journey

Whether your organisation is just starting out or already engaged in ESG reporting, this training provides the clarity, tools, and direction needed to move forward with confidence.

Learn from Industry Practitioner, Not Just Theory

The training will be led by Dr. Kevin Ho, an ESG practitioner with extensive experience in:

  • ESG advisory and reporting

  • GHG emissions calculation and carbon management

  • Delivering ESG training across industries

Known for his ability to simplify complex ESG concepts, Dr. Kevin focuses on practical, real-world application—ensuring participants walk away with knowledge they can immediately apply within their organisations. Why This Training Matters Now

The ESG landscape is evolving quickly. Companies that delay action risk:

  • Falling behind regulatory expectations

  • Losing investor confidence

  • Missing opportunities for operational efficiency and cost savings

On the other hand, companies that act early position themselves to:

  • Strengthen governance and risk management

  • Enhance brand reputation and stakeholder trust

  • Unlock new growth opportunities in a sustainability-driven economy

The difference lies in taking the first step—and taking it correctly.
